INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA       Prostar event        August 21-22, 2004

Well, we finally have some good news to report.  After making some major changes last winter, we have been struggling all season to get our combination back that we had at last Novembers’ World Finals.

Indianapolis is always a superb race track to attend.  The weather even cooperated.  The fueler ran well all weekend awarding us with number two qualifier.  We won all rounds leading up to the finals against, no other, than Larry Spiderman!  In the semi’s, we lost an engine and had to make a change as fast as possible.  We really didn’t have the time we needed, but we went running to the staging lanes as the final round was pushing up.  Ron said he’d be surprised if everything stayed together the entire pass after such a thrashing to change engines.  Well, something did come loose.  Right in the burnout a pulley to the blower came off and that was the end of that story.  Larry had to make a solo pass in the finals, which isn’t fun for anyone racing or watching.

The bike went back to Oklahoma City with plenty of work to be done before Memphis.  We still had a great weekend with an exceptional crew this race.  We had about a dozen crew members helping out.  In addition to Robert and Lil John from Anchorage, and Big Carl and Steve from Oklahoma City, we also had C.J., Jeff, & Bill from Oklahoma City, Ernie and Gus from Florida, and several other friends passing through.  One of the greatest benefits of these race events is the gathering of friends and family from all over the country.
